4

Select "System-generated API Key"

Bybit offers two options: System-generated and Self-generated. Choose "System-generated API Key" — this is simpler and recommended for most users.

5

Name Your Key "DeepAlpha Bot"

In the Name field (also called "Note" or "Label"), type DeepAlpha Bot. This helps you identify which key is used for what if you have multiple API keys.

6

Set Permissions: Trade Only

This is the most important step. Under the permissions section:

Security: Never enable Withdraw permission. DeepAlpha does not need it and will never ask for it. Your funds stay in your Bybit wallet at all times.
7

IP Restriction (Optional)

For extra security, you can restrict the API key to only work from specific IP addresses. If you're using DeepAlpha Cloud, you can add our server IP:

217.15.163.134

Tip: If you leave the IP field empty, the API key will work from any IP address. This is fine for most users and easier to set up.
8

Copy API Key and Secret

After clicking "Submit", Bybit will show you two values:

Important: The API Secret is shown only once. Copy and save it immediately. If you lose it, you'll need to create a new API key.
9

Paste Keys in DeepAlpha Dashboard

Go to the DeepAlpha Dashboard, navigate to Settings, and paste your API Key and API Secret in the Bybit fields. Click "Save".

Tip: Your API keys are encrypted and stored securely. They are never shared with anyone.
10

Start the Bot in Paper Mode

Before trading with real money, click "Start Bot" and select Paper Mode. This simulates trades without risking real funds, so you can verify everything works correctly.

Recommended: Run in Paper Mode for at least 24-48 hours to observe the bot's behavior and confirm your strategy settings before going live.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is it safe to connect my Bybit account?

Yes. DeepAlpha uses API keys with Trade-only permissions. The bot cannot withdraw, transfer, or move your funds. Your crypto stays in your Bybit wallet at all times. We never have access to your Bybit password or account login. API keys can be revoked at any time from your Bybit dashboard.

Can the bot withdraw my funds?

No, absolutely not. The API key you create has Trade permission only — Withdraw is explicitly disabled. Even if someone obtained your API key, they could not withdraw any funds. This is an industry-standard security practice used by all reputable trading bots. You can verify the permissions at any time in your Bybit API Management page.

What is Paper Mode?

Paper Mode (also called Demo Trading or Paper Trading) simulates real trades using live market data, but without risking real money. It's the safest way to test a strategy, verify your API connection, and get familiar with the bot before going live. We strongly recommend running in Paper Mode for at least 24-48 hours before switching to live trading.

Can I use the same API key for multiple bots?

Technically yes, but we recommend creating a separate API key for DeepAlpha. This way, you can easily revoke access without affecting other services, and it's easier to track which bot is making which trades.

I lost my API Secret. What do I do?

If you lost your API Secret, you'll need to delete the old API key from Bybit and create a new one. Bybit only shows the Secret once during creation for security reasons. Follow this guide again from Step 2 to create a fresh key.

Does DeepAlpha work with other exchanges?

Yes! DeepAlpha supports 12 exchanges including Binance, OKX, Gate.io, KuCoin, Bitget, HTX, MEXC, BingX, Phemex, BitMart, and WhiteBIT. The API key setup process is similar for each exchange. Check our blog for exchange-specific guides.
